MW4 Following Orders: Toolbox Code & Choices

Toolbox code 214, a spoiler-aware approach to choices and the conflicting collectible counts in community guides.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 — official game artwork

The Following Orders toolbox code is reported as 214. Following Orders is the third mission in the community-reported campaign sequence. This page contains a puzzle answer; it avoids claiming that an untested dialogue choice guarantees an achievement.

Toolbox code

At the toolbox identified in the linked mission guides, enter 214. This is a three-digit code; do not turn it into a four-digit Stranded code. If it fails, compare the exact toolbox and the current objective with the source guide. A similarly named container in another mission is not the same lock.

Choices and progression

Read the current objective and dialogue before selecting an action. This guide does not prescribe a single choice as the guaranteed achievement route because we have not independently verified all branch outcomes. If you are playing for story, choose naturally; if you are attempting a specific achievement, check its exact in-game wording and a guide that demonstrates the required path.

Collectibles and contraband

Community guides disagree on a total of three or four contraband items. We therefore do not publish either count as a confirmed completion requirement. Treat your in-game progress screen as the starting point, compare item locations rather than totals alone, and distinguish required mission items from optional collectibles.

For a sweep, finish checking the accessible area before taking a transition that may advance the mission. Do not overwrite or delete a save solely to match an external collectible count.

Mission context

Following Orders follows Out in the Cold and precedes Hired Gun in the reported sequence. See the full mission list. If you are actually looking for island or bunker locks, use Stranded codes instead.
