MW4 DMZ Beginner Guide: Prepare, Deploy & Extract

Before deploying

At the Forward Operating Base, separate the gear staying in your Stash from the loadout going into the field. The official starting storage lists 40 item slots and 12 weapon slots, counted separately. Take only the equipment needed for your current objective; unprotected backpack contents can be lost when extraction fails.

Choose one purpose

Read your current Orders, then choose Story Missions, Dynamic Operations or Free Roam. A short first run can focus on a single order, an affordable material target or learning a nearby extraction. Use Hajin’s POI guide to compare the intended area’s threat. An ambitious route across multiple high-threat areas is not necessary to learn the extraction loop.

Extract with what matters

Follow the active green-smoke extraction marker, call the Twin Heli and defend until you can board. Exits can attract other players. A weapon instance is not a permanent purchase unlock: bring out the corresponding Weapon Manual for that. A found recipe also needs extraction to register at the printer.
