MW4 Known Issues: Loadouts, Missing Stats & DMZ Prestige
Check four official MW4 issues, their affected platforms and available workarounds. Separate Xbox PC missing launch buttons from Steam crashes and older patch fixes.

Checked October 23, 2026. Activision's issue list is dated October 22 and contains four entries below. “Under investigation” means the publisher is tracking the issue; it does not mean a fix is available. This is a dated support reference, not a live incident feed.
Symptoms, platforms and status

Xbox PC: Campaign or DMZ button missing
Activision identifies Xbox on PC for this entry. Confirm Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 - Content Pack 1 is installed and review the Microsoft Store account's ten-device limit. These are the publisher's checks, not a guarantee that the launch-button issue is resolved. Do not apply this diagnosis to Steam solely because a button looks similar. Steam owners should follow installation and owned DLC and the launch checklist.
Loadouts will not save, or stats are missing
The Multiplayer save issue is still listed for all platforms; the source does not publish a confirmed repair. Avoid rebuilding every class or buying an edition upgrade on the assumption that either is a fix.
For missing Combat Record or leaderboard numbers, Activision explicitly says that statistics continue to be recorded. Missing numbers are a display problem in this entry, not proof that progress was deleted. Keep it separate from a crash or a failed match connection. This site's loadout builder saves a browser configuration; it cannot repair the game's loadout service.
DMZ Operator Prestige: the exact workaround boundary
The support entry reports success with Rare weapons with three attachment slots that have never had four or more attachments. It does not say to take any four-slot weapon and simply remove an attachment. Treat this as an official-listed workaround while investigation continues, not a guaranteed fix. DMZ operator progression is separate from player Prestige and Weapon Prestige.
A patch fix is not the same as an open issue
The October 21 launch notes include an October 20 crash fix for the door breach in Breaking New Ground and an October 21 PC performance fix involving a Heartbeat Sensor held with a weapon. Those are dated, narrow fixes. They do not establish that every DMZ crash or stutter is fixed, nor that today's problem has that cause. Read the patch reference alongside stuttering / low FPS checks.
Is MW4 down, or is this a local problem?
This page cannot establish current server availability. Use Activision's official Online Services for a current service notice. A local crash, missing mode pack, delayed stats and an outage are different symptoms; one user's report is not proof of a global incident.
Report a problem and check for updates
The official known-issues page links its bug-report and PC crash-report forms. Record platform, mode, exact error, game build and reproduction steps; remove personal information from screenshots. Follow those official links rather than sending account credentials here. For a process that closes, use crash troubleshooting; for a running game with poor performance, use performance diagnosis.
